Prince Of Peace Table

Prince Of Peace Table- Made from Hard Maple stained with Kona.

Do you know of events that happen in life that caused hurt to a lot of people but even through the pain you see God’s hand through it all? This table that I built was during a time that was really hard for our church family. I wanted to name this table, but it was difficult to figure out a name. While the trials were very real for people in my life, I was reminded that there is something more that people need than just a “I am here for you!” when times get tough. Something that passes all understanding because many times what we face in life is beyond us and our human comprehension. That something is the peace of God. One of Jesus’ many names is Prince of Peace! This isn’t just a name. We need to understand that in this lifetime everyone needs Jesus. As this world gets worse and worse the only answer and solution to all the worlds problems is Jesus. Did you know that Jesus died for you and I so we can have eternal life and live always with peace and joy in our lives. That peace and joy is not something we can obtain by works and achievements but by faith and fellowship with Jesus.

Another really amazing thought about Jesus is that He was a carpenter himself. I am sure the work Jesus did was so beautiful and I believe there is a reason beyond just an occupation. You see when you build a piece of furniture you take the raw imperfect and old materials and create something new and beautiful. Reminds me of putting away the old man and putting on the new as you go from the sinful natural man to a renewed saved man in Christ (Ephesians 4:22-24 KJV). Jesus was the perfect example of living a life of peace and joy though hard times. How else do you explain someone coming to the point of giving their life for a wicked world that would still choose to hate Him even after the fact. He knew that the importance of people believing on Him for salvation and to obtain true peace and joy was worth dying for. The disciples knew this as well as 11 of the 12 were martyr’s for the faith. Who in their right mind would proclaim the gospel message, willing to be martyr’s for the cause of Christ, other than those who truly had peace and joy within themselves; something that passed all understanding.

I hope this table is a reminder for years to come that Jesus is the answer in a world of hurt and that when someone purchases it, it is a reminder of a peace that lies before them if they choose to draw near to Jesus.

God Bless!
